Manuscript Types
JCSR considers scholarly manuscripts that fall within the journal's aims and scope in comparative religious studies. Manuscripts must demonstrate academic relevance, a clear research question or analytical purpose, engagement with appropriate scholarly literature, and a coherent argument supported by relevant evidence.
1. Research Articles
Research articles present original scholarly investigations. They should explain the research problem, relevant literature or theoretical framework, methods or analytical approach, findings or arguments, and conclusions. The structure may vary according to the nature of the research.
2. Case Studies
Case studies provide a focused and systematic analysis of a particular case, community, event, institution, religious practice, or social phenomenon relevant to the study of religions. They should explain why the case is significant, identify the sources or methods used, and demonstrate how the analysis contributes to wider scholarly understanding.
3. Literary Studies
Literary studies examine religious texts, literary works, intellectual traditions, or related cultural materials through a clearly defined scholarly approach. Submissions should establish their interpretive framework, engage with relevant literature, and support their analysis with appropriate textual or contextual evidence.
General Requirements
All manuscript types are subject to editorial screening and peer review. Submissions must be original, properly referenced, and prepared in accordance with JCSR's Author Guidelines. Acceptance depends on scholarly quality, relevance to the journal's scope, originality, and the outcome of the editorial and peer-review process.
